Melissa Library Announces January Programs

The first family night of the year will be Tuesday, Jan. 11.

The Melissa Public Library released its activity calendar for the first month of the new year. After taking a break for the New Year’s holiday, programs resume on Jan. 5 with Homeschool Storytime at 10 a.m.  A second Homeschool Storytime event will also be held at the same time on Jan. 19. 

Teen Homeschool Hangout events resume on Jan. 12 with a glitter jar project at 1:30 p.m.  The second Teen Homeschool Hangout of the month will the at the same time on Jan. 26 with a board game café. 

On Friday, Jan. 7, the library will host Bilingual Music & Movement at 10:30 a.m. The next three Friday, Jan. 12, Jan. 21 and Jan 28, will feature Physical Literacy Storytime, also at 10:30 a.m. 

The first family night of the year will be Tuesday, Jan. 11. The event at 4:30 p.m. will feature paper heart bouquets. Tuesday, Jan. 18 marks the return of Edible Craft time. The year’s first installment of the popular program will have marshmallow snowmen.  

Teen Tuesday will feature a stress ball craft at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 25. 

As for weekend events, the library will host an adult Medicare class at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22.  There will also be a youth craft bird feeder class at 1 p.m. the same day.  The last library event of the month will be the Carter Blood Drive for adults beginning at 11 a.m.
