Just before 4 p.m. Dec. 13, a truck carrying a backhoe snagged a powerline at the intersection of State Highway 5 and 4th Street. Power was out in the areas for nearly two hours as crews worked to rectify the situation.

According to a city spokesperson, only 12 resident were affected.  The city’s utility billing and finance departments briefly experienced power outages, which also caused some internal desk phones to go down. Since Anna servers have battery backups, the disruption to city business was minimal.
