Melissa HS robotics team heads to state again
For the fifth consecutive year, the Melissa High School Robotics team is heading to the state tournament.
This year’s team consists of 25 students. At the regional competition, they won third place overall against schools in divisions 1A through 6A. They were the runner-up amongst schools in division 4A and below. The team was also awarded a superlative for best software design.
“The kids competed very well,” coach Rick Gagarin said. “Our engineering notebook kids scored excellent, along with our marketing presentation team and the marketing exhibit team. The drivers of the robot scored well enough to make the finals and pull out a third-place finish.”
This year’s state robotics tournament will be held from Dec. 2-4 at the Frisco Convention Center and Comerica Center. More information on the tournament schedule and other details may be found at bestoftexasrobotics.org.
