Becki Girouard to lead Melissa Education Foundation
Becki Girouard has been named the new executive director of the Melissa Education Foundation. She has more than two decades of experience building partnerships and expanding markets for multiple organizations.
Her career includes stints with Children’s Health Systems of Texas, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Susan G. Komen, and the America Heart Association. She holds a degree in organizational communications with a minor in journalism from Texas State University. Now she will turn her attention to helping the Education Foundation fund more scholarships and grants.
“It’s really about understanding our supporters and connecting them in meaningful ways to the mission of Melissa Education Foundation and the students and teachers they serve,” Girouard said in a statement announcing her appointment. “For me, it’s all about a broad base of collaboration to ensure the kids in our community can reach their full potential.”
Melissa ISD board member Brooks Redden praised the move, noting the Girouard has a proven track record in developing community partnerships and growing fundraising programs.
“Her expertise is exactly what we need to build on accomplishments and prepare the foundation to grow along with Melissa ISD, well into the future,” Redden said.
