In a Festive Allen Events Center May 27, Melissa seniors celebrated graduation in front of family, friends and teachers.  It was an evening earned through hours of hard work and determination.

Valedictorian Paityn Garlington said that the academic lessons she has learned in school were not the most important things she will take away from high school.  Instead, she cited Melissa ISD’s five core values as the lessons she and fellow graduates will need most to keep them grounded and guide them through the future.

“Although I am proud of the trophies, awards and honors I have earned, Loyalty, Honesty, Humility, Hope and Integrity will last a lifetime,” she said.

“If you are still worried about what the future holds for you, remember you have been equipped with these five values, so there’s no challenge you haven’t already prepared to overcome.
