Anna ISD breaks ground on 4th elementary

Staff reports
Anna ISD Superintendent Michael Comeaux, Board President Shelli Conway and members of the Sherley family break ground on Rosamond-Sherley Elementary School.

Anna ISD officials hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the district’s fourth elementary school on May 3. Rosamond-Sherley Elementary school will be located near the intersection of County Road 425 and FM 2862.  It is scheduled to open in August 2022.

The school is named for the Sherley family who donated land for the facility.  Members of the family were on hand for the ceremony along with the Anna ISD Board of Trustees, representatives from Anna ISD administration and the Chamber of Commerce. The event was held in conjunction with Lee Lewis Construction and WRA Architects.

This will likely not be the last school groundbreaking ceremony in Anna.  The district’s final campus build-out plan includes 16 elementary schools, eight middle schools and up to four high schools.
