Melissa ISD expands pre-K program

Melissa ISD announced it is expanding its pre-kindergarten program.  The district is now offering an eligibility-based option and a tuition-based option.

The program is open to children who will be four-years-old on or before Sept. 1. It had previously only been open to student who met certain eligibility requirements.  Not\w it is also being offered to families willing to pay a tuition.

Classes will be held at the Melissa Ridge Education Center and will be offered in-person.  There may also be a virtual option depending on yet-to-be announced guidance from the Texas Education Agency.

The district has set up a pre-kindergarten questionnaire for parents interested in enrolling their children next year. There are a limited number of tuition-based spots available. Registration will be done on a first come, first served basis with a paid deposit required.

Pre-K students who live within the district’s transportation zone will also have the option to register for bus service.
