Melissa ISD names new assistant elementary principals
Melissa ISD announced the appointment of three new assistant elementary school principals on March 1.
Amy Edwards will serve as the new assistant principal at North Creek Elementary. She’s been an elementary teacher for the past seven years.
William Daniel was named the new assistant principal at Harry McKillop Elementary. He’s been an educator for 12 years, serving as both a teacher and administrator.
Julie Armstrong will be the new principal at Willow Wood Elementary. She boasts 14 years of elementary teaching experience. Her most recent role was teaching fourth grade at Harry McKillop Elementary.
“We were very pleased with the quality of the applicant pool for these positions,” Deputy Superintendent Robert Rich said. “There was a lot of interest from both internal applicants and the external applicants. The campus-based interview committees spent a lot of time matching potential candidates to each assistant principal position, and there was complete consensus on the recommendations that were presented to the Board of Trustees.”
