Broken ceiling pipes caused by the last week’s winter storm have forced the Melissa Ridge Education Center to close through at least Feb. 26. Many parts of the building suffered significant damage as water first flooded the building and then froze.

Students who attend classes there will not need to log on for remote instruction at least through this week. New guidance provided by the Texas Education Agency will allow Melissa ISD to apply for a waiver so that early childhood and Kindergarten students will not have to make up an additional week of school
