Precious Bale will be the principal of Willow Wood Elementary when it opens next fall.

Melissa ISD officials announced that Precious Bale will be the first principal of Willow Wood Elementary.  The new school, which will be Melissa’s third elementary, is expected to open in time for the 2021-2022 school year.

Bale has been an assistant principal at North Creek Elementary since 2019. She holds a Master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University and has over a decade of experience in education as both an elementary teacher and administrator.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve Melissa ISD as the principal of Willow Wood Elementary,” Bale said. “I am honored to work in a district whose core values reflect my personal creed. I’m incredibly thankful that the district has entrusted me to open this campus and continue the district’s tradition of excellence.”

The Melissa ISD interview committee unanimously recommended Bale for the position. She was also endorsed by the district’s board of trustees during their Oct. 19 meeting.

“I am thrilled that Mrs. Bale will be sitting at the helm of our new campus, Willow Wood Elementary,” Deputy Superintendent Kim Boedeker said. “From day one as a Melissa Cardinal, Mrs. Bale has been gracious and willing to do whatever it takes to do what is best for students, teachers, and parents. It is a joy to watch her lead and serve others.”

When Willow Wood Elementary opens next school year, all three Melissa elementary campuses will follow the standard kindergarten- fifth-grade configuration. The Melissa Ridge education center will become an early childhood education center.
