Aubrey took three-straight sets from the Anna Lady Coyotes in District 11-4A volleyball action, Oct. 1, at Aubrey High School and then Sanger’s Lady Indians swept past Anna in district volleyball action on Friday at Anna High School, 25-19, 25-9, 25-18.


On Friday, Rachel Goade led the Lady Coyotes (0-3) with nine kills and teammate Aubreanna Traylor chipped in four. Anna’s Haley Thornburg posted a team-high 14 set-assists while Gracie Goade was next with seven. Qua Fisher dug up 10 balls for the Lady Coyotes and team libero Alana Pina slapped two service aces.


With the win, Sanger (2-1) moved into a three-way tie with Melissa and Aubrey for second place in District 11-4A.


On Oct. 1, the Lady Chaparrals (2-0) prevailed by counts of 25-14, 25-16, 25-20.


Rachel Goade led Anna with six kills while Gracie Goade and Lexi Stewart posted five each. Fisher dug-up a team-high 23 balls for the Lady Coyotes and Pina was next with eight. Fisher and Stewart also logged a service ace apiece for Anna. Gracie Goade collected nine set assists and Haley Thornburg had eight while Stewart recorded the Lady Coyotes’ lone solo block as well.
