Anna defeated Class 5A Fort Worth Eastern Hills, 46-26, in non-district football action Saturday night at Fort Worth’s Handley Field. The Coyotes led, 22-6, at halftime enroute to 424 total yards of offense, including 203 on the ground.

Anna receiver Noah Palshaw hauled in 11 catches for 154 yards and two second-half touchdowns. Coyotes running back Arthur Nwokorie rushed for 82 yards on 14 carries for a 5.8-yard average and two touchdowns. Dorien Allen roamed for 75 yards on three carries.

“The offense did much better than the previous week,” Anna head coach Jason Heath said by phone on Sunday. “Against a very big and athletic team in Eastern Hills, I thought we did some good things. We’ve definitely got some things we’ve still got to work on, though.

“Noah had another good game, some big catches, some tough catches. He’s doing what we expect him to do out there in the receiver position.”

Josh Adams led Anna’s defense with a team-high eight tackles, one assist, two tackles for a loss and two quarterback pressures. Dre Moon chipped in six tackles with two assists and Micaiah Ross had three stops, two assists, two pass break-ups and three forced fumbles.

“I thought defensively, we did a pretty good job in the first half,” Heath said. “I think they had 46 or 49 yards in the first half. … We gave up a several big plays there in the second half.”

Anna topped Eastern Hills last year, 27-6, at Coyote Stadium.

On Friday, the Coyotes (1-1) travel to face Class 3A Van Alstyne (1-1).
