Anna’s Amyri Cox claimed the silver medal in the 300-meter hurdles on Thursday at the Princeton Panther Relays at Jackie Hendricks Stadium. Clocking in at 42.17 seconds, Cox was less than a second behind Jayvyn Hopkins of Class 5A McKinney North.


The Princeton event drew Class 6A programs McKinney and McKinney Boyd as well as other 5As Princeton, Royse City and Wylie East. Besides Anna, other 4A schools included Celina and Melissa.


Coyote who also earned points at Princeton were:


-Spencer May, third in discus throw


-Cox, Kareem Mason, Za Gentry and Emmonte Davis, fourth in 4x200-meter relay


-Davis, Mason, Cox, Gentry, fourth in 4x100-meter relay


-Mason, fourth in triple jump


-Mason Massingill, fifth in 300-meter hurdles


-Massingill, fifth in pole vault


-Brandon Bridges, fifth in discus throw


The Anna boys compete next at the District 11-4A meet, April 3-4, at Aubrey.
