Anna’s Lady Coyotes dropped their basketball season-opener to Class 5A Greenville, 41-34, on Friday, Nov. 10, at Greenville. Junior forward Hannah Howell and senior post JaShell Evans led the Lady Coyotes in scoring with eight points each.

“I love the way we played,” Anna head coach Albert Cager said. “We played with heart and energy. We just need to execute better and limit our turnovers. Although we lost, it was a step in the right direction. We will be better moving forward.”

Cager noted that three of his top players were out due to injury, including senior guard Hannah Heath, junior guard Angel Dube and senior forward Tajia Pritchett who sustained a knee injury early in the game.
