Anna Baseball enjoyed two big wins over the March 1 weekend, taking down Harmony on Friday and then again on Saturday. The Coyotes will be back in action the March 8 weekend when they play in the Van Alstyne tournament.

Anna 14, Harmony 5

Anna refused to relinquish its lead after grabbing it early against the Harmony Eagles, recording a 14-5 victory on Saturday. The game was decided quickly as the Coyotes exerted its will early with seven runs in the first three innings.

An error, an RBI double by Jeremy Gee, a fielder’s choice, an RBI single by Jesse Vasquez, an RBI single by Koy Harris and a two-run double by Ty Chapman during the first inning supplied the early offense for Anna.

Harris put together a nice outing. The Eagles managed just three hits off of him as he allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Anna answered Harmony’s top inning with four runs of its own in the fourth. The Coyotes scored on a three-run triple by Gage Scribner and an RBI single by Joseph Lopez.

Anna 17, Harmony 1

The Coyotes demolished the Harmony Eagles 17-1 in four innings on Friday after a nine-run explosion in the first.

Wyatt Sanford was in control on the rubber. He held the Eagles hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Anna hammered the Harmony Eagles pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 10 hits, 12 RBIs and 10 runs scored.

The Coyotes built upon its lead with four runs in the fourth. A clutch bases loaded walk scored Clayton Morris to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Matt Lagrone’s single, scoring Jesse Vasquez.
