Melissa Booster Clubs Incorporated (MBCI) has announced the sale of reserved stadium seating, open MBCI board positions, and the forming of sport-specific parent committees. This is done in a continuing effort to promote athletic and musical excellence in the Melissa ISD.
MBCI will be offering reserved seating for the 2013 varsity football season for a limited time. The proceeds from the sale of reserved tickets will fund the rental of the temporary bleachers at the stadium. The permanent bleachers will be numbered and sold for $50 each ($10 per game for the five home games) and includes admission to the game.
To be entered into the drawing for reserved seating, an MBCI membership must be purchased and will include all the benefits traditionally offered (see the MBCI webpage http://themelissacardinals.shutterfly.com/ for details). The Gold $75 memberships will be the first to be drawn for seat selection, followed by Silver memberships etc. Each membership may purchase up to six tickets. Once the drawing and selection have occurred, this will be your seat for all five home games.
To purchase membership/tickets, "like" the Melissa Booster Club Facebook page and look for posting of dates and times tickets will be sold at the high school, or contact MBCI Board Member Nonie Burton at 214-682-8237 or firstname.lastname@example.org. At the Celebration of Freedom, 118 of the available 550 tickets were sold.
There are currently two MBCI board positions open. Those with website management/design or with publisher software comprehension are especially urged to seek board membership. However, this is not a requirement to apply for a board position. If you are interested in serving on the board, contact MBCI Secretary Amy Burchett at email@example.com to obtain an application.
The MBCI will also be forming parent committees for each sport in order to help parents support athletes and coaches as well as meet other parents involved in the sport. A Parent Committee Representative (PCR) will be appointed by the MBCI board to serve as a liaison between the coaches, parents and MBCI. The PCR will enlist parents of the sport to work concessions, ensure game information is posted on the MBCI website, Facebook page and printed media, as well as keep parents informed about MBCI information such as the end of the year athletic banquet.
For more information about the parent committees contact MBCI board member Keith Ellis firstname.lastname@example.org. The Mighty Cardinal Band has successfully operated a parent committee for the last several years under band PCR Trina Fender who can be reached at email@example.com.
