Although the Anna Lady Coyotes are facing challanging circumstances with their fifth new coach in five years, their future is looking bright.
The ladies have been participating in a summer basketball program in Leonard. They may have had a rocky start but they have pulled it together and things are starting to look up.
On July 18, the Lady Coyotes started the night off aginst Cooper. After some hard work the ladies were able to pull out a 24-36 win.
Later that evening they faced Tom Bean. It was a hard-fought battle with extreme amounts of effort from both teams. In the end, however, the buzzer beater shot fell short and left the game in a 30-30 tie.
Coming that close to nailing down the win did not stop the Lady Coyotes from hopping back into the game. On July 22, the Lady Coyotes faced Ector, only this time they were short handed as both of their point guards were unable to make the game due to select tournament obligations.
The game started out shakey and the girls were behind on the scoreboard halfway through the first half. However, the ladies were able to pull it together and make up ground. The fight that looked like it would be a disappointment turned out in the favor of the Lady Coyotes as they topped Ector, 26-18.
The road ahead of the Anna Lady Coyotes is going to be a difficult one to travel along, but the girls plan to give it all they have and not let their challenging circumstances hinder their path to success.
