The parade is coming, and you are invited to be a part of it. Melissa Residents are encouraged to come out and cheer on the award-winning Melissa High School Mighty Cardinal Band as it holds its third annual Mighty Cardinal Band March-A-Thon.

On Saturday, August 17, the band will march through The Villages of Melissa, Country Ridge, Hunters Ridge, Liberty, Trails of Melissa and Berry Farms to provide entertainment for the community and give residents an opportunity to support the band in their march. Supporters can make a donation to help band members cover their individual band expenses for the year, such as uniform fees, private lessons, instrument rental and maintenance and even the spring trip.

The March-a-thon will begin at 9 a.m. at Melissa High School and proceed through the Villages of Melissa, entering Country Ridge at around 9:25 a.m. The parade will then proceed through Hunters Ridge at approximately 10:40 a.m. The Liberty portion is scheduled for 11:20 a.m. The Cardinal Band will then march into the Trails of Melissa about 12:20 p.m., with the last portion of the march beginning in Berry Farms at about 12:55 p.m.
