While winter weather with freezing rain, hail, ice and even "thundersleet" played havoc on city streets Sunday and Monday there were only seven vehicle accidents, none major, through the weekend.

"And most of the accidents were on Friday and Saturday when it was warm," a puzzled Anna Police Sgt. Jeff Caponera explained.

The area-wide Warrant Roundup netted nine outstanding warrant arrests including one for a $75,000 bond for injury to a child according to Caponera. Additionally, a number of warrants were cleared through the court.

With only one incident to report on Thursday, Feb. 27, officers responded to the 1800 block of Pecan Grove on a vehicle burglary call where a GCEC truck was broken into and tools and copper wire were taken. The Department has no suspects in the case.
