Scam Alert from Anna P.D.:
"A security alarm company worker is going around our neighborhoods advising residents that there have been a lot of break-ins in the area and claiming that the police department is recommending his services," said Anna Police Sgt. Jeff Caponera, strongly emphasizing that this is absolutely false. "We do not endorse anyone, and it’s a scare tactic regularly used by such people. Our job is citizen protection; do not let them in your house and do not get involved in this scam."
On Friday, March 7 at 3:20 p.m., officers responded to a possible intoxicated driver at McDonald’s who was observed by a number of patrons, including an off-duty Anna police officer. According to Caponera, the driver hit several vehicles and almost hit the restaurant’s building. Sherman resident Deana Wolf, 42, was arrested on a charge of DWI.
