Anna celebrated Collin McKinney Day with a ceremony hosted by the Anna Area Historical Preservation Society and the Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce. The event was held at the home of Collin McKinney in Anna.
Anna Deputy Mayor Pro Tem John Beazley welcomed area residents and Collin County Historical Commission bus tour participants who were visiting locations throughout the county that were relevant to the life of Collin McKinney. Beazley read the proclamation issued by the City of Anna naming April 23 Collin McKinney Day in the city.
Collin County Commissioner Chris Hill gave the invocation, Collin County Judge Keith Self welcomed everyone and Ted Wright, Director of Collin County Historical Society Museum, spoke about the history of the area and its significance in Collin McKinney’s life.
