ANNA — Brenda Joyce Harris was born Oct. 24, 1942 to Luther G. Pritchett and Zola M. Pritchett, in Lamesa. She was raised in Amarillo, where she graduated from Palo Duro High School May 29, 1961. She married Benjamin (B. J.) Harris August 5, 1963. They lived in Amarillo for a while before moving to Ontario, California. While there, she was blessed with a set of twins, which brought her back to the great state of Texas.

She was a homemaker until the twins were in the fifth grade. She then went to work at North Garland High School in the cafeteria. She walked into M.E. Moses to do some shopping and was offered a job. She later became a manager of M.E. Moses the 5 & 10 store until 1993. She then worked at RCL in a warehouse for 2 years. She loved going fishing, working in the yard, riding the lawn mower and gardening. She also enjoyed playing card games and dominoes. But most of all she enjoyed long rides going anywhere, with a coke and peanuts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin ( B.J.) Harris; parents, Luther and Marie Pritchett; brothers, Bob and Dan Pritchett; and sister, Nancy Collins.

She is survived by her sisters, Patsy and Sonny Rabe of Dallas, and Doris and Al Poe of Littleton Colorado; sisters-in-law, Latrell Pritchett of Amarillo, and Gail Lebow of Garland; brother-in-law Jim Collins of Texoma; daughters Jo and Jimmy Sheridan of Anna, and Joyce Mayes of Anna; six grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 13 at the Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel, with Larry Henry officiating. You may sign the online register book at
