Anna ISD notified parents that a verbal threat was made Thursday by a student at the Anna Education Center.
District students in pre-kindergarten and sixth grade attend classes at the center, at 601 S. Sherley Road.
According to the notification, which was credited to Anna ISD Superintendent Michael Comeaux, the Anna Education Administration and the Anna ISD Police Department investigated the threat and arrested the student.
“At no time were our students in danger, as this was a verbal threat,” it was explained.
Once the district’s investigation is complete, the “future education placement” of the student who made the threat will be determined in accordance with school board policy and the district’s student code of conduct.
“Safety is our top priority in Anna ISD and all threats to our school or students are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly,” Comeaux said in the notification.
