In District 11-4A volleyball action at Celina on Friday, the tied-for-first-place Lady Bobcats (8-1) swept Anna in straight sets, 25-14, 25-9, 25-12. With the loss, the Lady Coyotes (1-8) remained in fifth place in district play - out of the playoff hunt with one match to go.


Anna battled tough in Set 1, holding two 3-point leads and forcing four ties on the way to 14-14. But from there, the Lady Bobcats reeled off 11-straight points for the win and dominated the last two sets.


Aubreanna Traylor had a team-high six kills for Anna, along with three assist blocks and a solo block. Setter Haley Thornburg registered a team-high eight assists and one solo block while Gracie Goade and Lexi Stewart slapped one service ace each. Libero Alana Pina finished with 11 digs.


On Oct. 22 at Anna, the Lady Coyotes were topped by Sanger (4-4) in three sets, 25-18, 27-25, 25-18. Traylor led the team with six kills that night as well and Stewart collected five. Thornburg and Gracie Goade logged 10 and eight set-assists, respectively, while Ariel Aronow and Traylor each knocked back two assist blocks. Goade, Stewart and Qua Fisher posted an ace apiece and Fisher dug up a team-high 15 balls.
