“We had a lot of great races at districts,” Lady Coyotes head coach Scott O’Connor said. “So many girls ran PRs [personal records] - tactically ran great and were tough competitors - but fell short of making it to area. It was hard for some who have worked so hard for months to not make it on. Our district was competitive last year but with the addition of Sanger, it has become crazy difficult.

“Each one of these races were tough, gutsy performances against some of the best competition in the region, and even the state. The teams in our district are well-coached and talented. … We had several injuries and even ineligibility issues that forced us to spread our team out greater than we anticipated. The girls didn’t complain but went all in and gave it everything they had. We are extremely excited about what our girls can do in the next two weeks.”
