For area residents that are looking for something different to take part in this week. Here are five events that will allow individuals in the area to meet new people and learn about the area. Here are five events to start the month of April.
1. History tour
The city of McKinney will be offering free walking tours on Monday. There will be morning and afternoon tours on Monday. The city’s preservation officer Guy Giersch will be giving the tours. Bring bottled water. Snacks will be provided. All tours begin at the Visitors Center.
2. For the gamer in all of us
Melissa’s senior gamers group meets from 1-4 p.m. each Thursday in the City Hall Community Room. For the first Thursday of the month, the group meets at 10:30 a.m. at First Melissa Church. 3. Get to know the first responders
“Coffee with Anna Cops” will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Texas Embroidery Ranch, 104 S. Powell Parkway, Suite B, Anna. The public is invited to the meet-and-greet type event. There will be complimentary coffee and refreshments.
4. New businesses
Knight Family Chiropractic and Anna Eyecare will be hosting ribbon-cutting ceremonies on Thursday. Both will be held from 6-7 p.m. at 1108 W. White Street in Anna. 5. Outdoor concerts
Patrons who visit Barn Hill Vineyards in Anna on Saturday will get to hear the tunes of Journey, Genesis, Phil Collins and others at a special wine tasting.
