The Anna Coyotes claimed first place at Denison’s Yellow Jacket relays on Thursday, besting second-place Lake Dallas, 135-113, in the five-team field. First-place finishes for the Coyotes were turned in by Amyri Cox in the 300-meter hurdles, Kareem Mason in the triple jump and Major Mosier in the shot put. Cox’s hurdles time was 42.01 seconds; Mason leaped 41 feet, 7 inches; and Mosier threw the shot 45 feet, 10 inches.

Mosier also claimed second in the discus throw with a toss of 122 feet, 10 inches, while teammates Spencer May and Brandon Bridges took second and third place, respectively, with throws of 118 feet, 4 inches, and 114 feet, 10 inches.

Mason also placed second in the 200-yard dash with a time of 22.71 seconds and Emmonte Davis finished the 100 meters in a third-place time of 11.28 seconds.

The Coyotes 4X100-meter relay team of Gavin Reno, Cox, Darian Jones and Zay Gentry took second place with a time of 44.41 seconds while the 4X400 team of Mason Massingill, Carlos Jimenez, Josh Packard and David Hernandez claimed second as well with a time of 3 minutes, 55.53 seconds. Anna’s 4X200 team of Cox, Mason, Gentry and Justin Muthaka finished third with a 1-minute, 32.25-second effort.
