Earlier this month, students in the Melissa High School choir competed at the 2019 UIL Solo Choir Competition, earning 13 superior ratings.
As part of the competition, students were required to perform a memorized solo from the UIL Prescribed Music List that would then be judged for a rating.
Students who earned a superior rating on a UIL solo include Bethania Ahadu, Kyndal Barham, Paris Church, Audrey Coulombe, Madison Courtney, Sydney Enoch, Lilly Heard, Taylor Hendrickson, Chloe Morris, Andru Wilson, and Rachel Wresh.
Kaycee Fender earned a superior rating on a piano solo and a vocal solo.
The middle and high school choirs will perform in the Pre-UIL Choir Concert on March 28 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union at Melissa High School.
