Accepting the proclamation declaring February as Career and Technical Education(CTE) Month in Melissa are members of the CTE faculty of Melissa High School. Mayor Reed Greer read the proclamation at the City Council meeting of Jan. 22 and presented the document to the teachers. Accepting the proclamation were Debi Crawford, Chris Mueller, Amy Tyner, Hallie Venner, RN, and Doug Bingman. The proclamation stated that CTE programs “have become a rigorous, progressive and vital part of the total education system which is committed to providing students with rewarding opportunities to learn valuable career and life skills.” It also noted that “the mission of career and technical education teachers in Melissa Schools is to cultivate potential through rigorous classroom instruction infused with work-based experiences that open multiple pathways that prepare students for the challenge of post-secondary education and a globally competitive workforce.”
