Kylan Gage Perkins, 9, of Whitewright, died January 21, 2019. He was born November 30, 2009 to Ashley OBier and Chris Perkins in Sweetwater. Kylan was a 2nd grade student at Whitewright Elementary School.
Kylan was loved by so many. He could light up a room with just his smile, and melt the hearts of all those around him. He always wore a smile on his face. He loved his family, friends, fast cars and football. He was an amazing brother to his three siblings. He loved to be outside with his daddy working on the go-carts or just chopping wood. They loved to sit around and eat snacks while watching football. Kylan loved to do everything his daddy and pawpaw were doing, they were his best friends. And he made sure everybody knew that.
Kylan is survived by his mother, Ashley OBier of Whitewright; sisters, Tesslyn Perkins of Whitewright and Braelyn Perkins of Little Elm; brother, Keagan Perkins of Little Elm; grandparents, David and Jodi OBier of Whitewright and Brad and Cindy Boone of Sweetwater; uncles, Justin OBier of Whitewright, Jimmy Smith of Farmersville and Joseph Hofreck of Farmersville; aunts, Zuri Williams of Sweetwater, Jadin OBier of Whitewright, Bethanie Olsen of Greenville and Tasha Bugbee of Mckinney; great-grandmother, Lois Harpole of Westminster, O.B. and Carolyn Boone of Sweetwater; and numerous great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. There are several aunts and uncles who were not blood to him way too many to name.
Kylan was proceeded in death by his great-grandparents, Roy J. Harpole, Joel and Ruth Norton and Kenneth and Margaret Obier; and sister, Kimber OBier.
Kylan left this world way too soon, but entered the Pearly Gates hand in hand with his daddy! They were inseparable, so for them one without the other just wouldn’t work.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 28 at King’s Trail Cowboy Church in Whitewright. A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 29 at the church.
Services were under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Alstyne.
