McKINNEY — A celebration of life for Mrs. Jackie Rae Hume-Thomas, 42, of McKinney, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 15 at Progressive Baptist Church in Sherman. Interment followed at West Hill Cemetery. A wake was held at 7 p.m. Friday, December 14 at One Community Church in Plano.
Jackie was born April 15, 1976 to Samuel and Sharon Hume Sr. in Tacoma,Washington. She graduated from Meade High School in Ft. Meade, Maryland in 1994.
She moved to Dallas where she worked at Bank of America, before gaining employment with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) where she recently retired.
Jackie had a passion for working and mentoring children, especially at her church, where she was a dedicated member and servant of God.
Jackie was called to eternal life December 2, 2018 from Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in McKinney. She is survived by her husband, Clifton D. Thomas and son, Caleb Thomas, both of McKinney; father, Samuel J. Hume Sr. (Barbara), of Baltimore, Maryland; mother, Sharon D. Howell-Worthington (Roy) of Sherman; siblings, Julianna Hume-Howell and Samuel Hume Jr., both of Sherman, and April Hume-Banks of McKinney; grandparents, Ethelene Nelson of Sherman and Clemon Howell of Atwater, California; and other relatives, church members, co-workers and friends.
