Anna downed Krum, 10-3, on Monday at Denton Braswell High School to advance to the regional-semifinal playoff round for the first time in school history.

“This was big for our program!” Coyotes head coach Vince Sharp said. “We have made strides every year and now we have a new first. It’s pretty exciting for this program and for these kids. They have worked hard and deserve every bit of success they achieve.”

Moving on in the Class 4A playoffs, Anna will now face Midlothian Heritage at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Grapevine High School.

On Oct. 17, Anna defeated Dallas Hillcrest in the bi-district playoff round at Anna High School. The Coyotes won all 19 matches — 15 of them by scores of 6-0, 6-0. “We have worked hard to put ourselves in a position to make a deep run in the playoffs,” Sharp said after that victory. “We are excited to be back in the [regional] quarterfinals, but this year we expect to go further.”

The Coyotes drew a bye in the area round.
