• Narcotics — 1300 block of Belle Plain. Investigator John Harper was parked outside a business conducting surveillance. Harper saw a Dodge pickup with a bed full of tires traveling on the road.

Harper knew the pickup’s registration was expired, and Harper had an ongoing investigation involving the tires in the pickup’s bed.

The driver pulled into the parking lot and Harper made contact with the driver and passenger as other deputies arrived.

The driver, Michael Rawls, a female, asked if she could get her ice cream from the pickup and narcotics investigator Carlyle Gover gave the ice cream to Rawls.

Gover asked Rawls if she had any narcotics. Rawls initially said no, but then said she had methamphetamine in her groin area, a report by deputy Jose Rodriguez states. Deputies recovered 3.5 grams.

Rawls, 38, of May, and passenger Michael Walls, 42, of Brownwood, were arrested on one charge each of possession of methamphetamine and evidence tampering.
