Student Sarah Gawron said, “My favorite part was getting to meet so many new people and making new friends from all over the country. It’s not every day you get that chance and I couldn’t be more grateful. I was already incredibly proud of Jenna, Trent, Ari, and I for advancing to nationals for our Spotlight on Service board, but placing 5th in the nation somehow made me feel even more proud. It was really a surreal experience.”

Participant Jeffrey Lewis added, “It was pretty cool getting in the top ten.”

AHS student Lasha Stewert said, “My favorite part was the beach and getting second place for lead outside the box was awesome because we worked really hard on it and nearly won with what little time we had.”

And fellow Beta Club member Alex Sekung said, “My favorite part was walking around the convention center and meeting new people. Being in the top 10 with my team was cool and good.”

Teacher and AHS Beta Club sponsor Stephanie Bristol said, “My favorite part of convention was watching our students grow into leaders. They are such an awesome group of kids, and I’m proud of them all the time! Seeing the look of joy on their faces as they placed, and as they got to experience new things like sushi and the beach. It was an amazing trip! These kids love Beta and love serving, and I am so thankful to be their sponsor. I am even more thankful for such a supportive community and administration that allows these kids to represent our town and state on a National level!”
