The Melissa Booster Clubs held their 15th annual Melissa Open Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 5 at Heritage Ranch Golf Club in Fairview. Through the generosity of many sponsors, the tournament raised over $100,000.

“We have so many players who look forward to this event every year — some have even played all 15 years,” Golf Tournament Coordinator Cindy Kasson said. “The weather was perfect for golf, which helped make it a really great day. We just can’t thank our sponsors and players enough, as this is the largest amount we’ve raised in the 15 year history. I would also like to give a special thank you to MHS junior Hannah Harris for joining us to sing the National Anthem.”

The first place team consisted of Dr. Robert Rich, Matt Newton, Ryan Dittfurth and Seth Rich. The second place team consisted of Louis Welch, Scott Bandemir, Brian Adams and Chris Gatlin. Matt Newton won the Putting Contest, and David Crain won the Chipping Contest. Winning Closest to Pin were Keith Hernandez (#4), Alex Walston (#6), Eric Horton (#12) and Zach Stinton (#16). Skyler Zadow won the Women’s Longest Drive, while Dan Booth won the Men’s Longest Drive.

Save the date — next year’s tournament has already been scheduled for May 5, 2019.
