The Melissa Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at the Hurricane Creek Country Club.

There will be a presentation by John Palmer, the Project Manager for Gardner Capital. Gardner Capital is a family-owned business that was founded in 1992 as an affordable housing development company by Mark Gardner. However, the company grew, and it is now an affordable housing and renewable energy developer, investor, and tax credit syndicate with primary regional offices located in St. Louis, Dallas, San Francisco, Atlanta and Springfield, Missouri.

“Under the direction of Mark’s son, Michael, an attorney who specialized in the LIHTC area during his practice and who joined Gardner Capital as president in 2012, the company is now ranked as one of the premier tax credit development, syndication and management firms in the country,” the website states. “Our ability to manage all aspects of a deal creates enormous efficiency and cost-savings for our clients and partners”

“Gardner Capital Construction Texas was established in 2015 to expand Gardner Capital’s overall footprint in the area of real estate development and to establish a vertically integrated development structure,” the website states. “The primary advantage of this structure is cost and risk mitigation.”

The Gardner Capital Construction currently has projects in Dallas-Fort Worth and the Houston Metro areas as well as in Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley. More recently, the firm expanded operations to include developments in both the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metro areas, developing primarily low-density senior housing properties.

At the luncheon, Palmer will explain Melissa Park Village, the new Melissa Resident and Commercial development. The Executive Director of the Melissa Area Chamber of Commerce Bill Jones said this development will be an asset for Melissa.

“This is a great new development for Melissa that will provide new retail and resident opportunities for Melissa residents,” Jones said.

Due to the nature of the luncheon, Jones encourages all residents to attend the event. “This should be of importance to all Melissa residents,” he added.

The cost to attend the luncheon is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. You can RSVP and pay by credit card at Melissa Area Chamber of Commerce website, under the “quarterly luncheon” link. The price of the luncheon also includes the Hurricane Creek Country Club buffet.

For any questions, contact Bill Jones at 903-227-4538.

“We would love to see you there to find out more about Melissa Park Village,” Jones said.
