Two seats on the Melissa Independent School District board of trustees are up for election this May.

On Place 1, incumbent George James is running for his sixth term. He has been a member on the board since 2002 and currently serves as board president.

Running against him are Heather Kurlinski and Lynette Morgan.

On Place 2, incumbent Bill Gray is running for his second term. He was elected to the board in 2014. Running against him is Steve Huth.

Board members are elected for three-year terms in staggered elections.

Between now and the election the Anna-Melissa Tribune will be speaking with each candidate. To submit potential questions for the candidates email with questions to be considered.

April 6 is the last day individuals can register to vote in the May 6 election. Early voting begins on April 24 and runs to May 2.
