The fourth annual Child ID Fair hosted by the Anna Police Department will be held on Saturday, August 24, at the Anna Police Department, 101 S. Powell Parkway, from 8 a.m. to noon.

The free event promotes child safety by providing a laminated ID card for each child, fingerprinting and listing all pertinent information required for the police to file a report in the event a child is missing or abducted.

While it isn’t necessary for parents to bring back children who were previously registered, "it is a good idea to bring them in for an updated photo or to enter any information that may have changed," said Anna Police Sgt. Jeff Caponera.

There will be a special appearance by McGruff the crime dog and a light breakfast will be available for everyone.

The event has been a big hit with area families and continues to grow each year.

"Please be patient, we will have a significant number of officers there and we’ll try to get people in and out as quickly as possible," said Caponera.
