The youth movement that struck the volleyball team has spread to the Van Alstyne cross-country team quicker than a gulf oil spill.

Coach Betty Molk will only have two seniors on her girl's team as Brianna Simpson and Tenielle James return for their final season.

Twenty-four girls reported for practice on August 9th but only four boys joined them for pre-season practice.

The team will run in a practice meet in Blue Ridge tomorrow and they are looking at a possible start to the regular season at the Marcus Meet in Denton on September 4th.
