Getting his first shot at extended playing time earned Van Alstyne senior Chance Miller the honor of being selected Newcomer of the Year in 10-3A for the 2009-10 season.

Joining Miller on the first team was Panther junior Levi DeMasters. Van Alstyne had three honorees on the Honorable Mention list, Chance Grayson, D.J. Seay and Slater Siedelmann, all juniors.
