VA Chamber Hosts Mixer

From Staff Reports

The Van Alstyne Chamber of Commerce held its very first Alive After Five mixer this past Thursday, February 18th at Swaggers in Anna with a great attendance. The Chamber of Commerce holds monthly networking breakfasts, and quarterly luncheons, but this was their first after hours mixer. The Chamber hopes to reach more members that may not be able to attend the other events. Chamber Vice President Kim DeMasters thought the event was a huge success, "There were several people who attended (the event) that had no idea Swaggers existed. Now they know, and they will go back and take their friends," DeMasters also had this to say about the networking event, "I was also able to get 3 new clients visiting with people who were in attendance, so that means these events work."

Swagger owner Tommy Reed and manager Butch Pecina were on hand to welcome the Chamber members and participate in their ribbon cutting. Swaggers also held a drawing for a $25.00 gift certificate, which was won by Brandy Ratcliff of 107.3 Doc FM. Those in attendance enjoyed half price appetizers and looked for the opportunity to win a chance to get in the money blowing machine brought in by Landmark Bank. Thank you to Landmark Bank, Solid Office Solutions and Key Insurance for donating cash for the machine. Those who were lucky enough to get in the money machine walked away with a combined total of $122.00 plus some coupons for free food from Buck Snort BBQ, Chick-fil-a, and Swaggers.

Mark your calendars now, Jack's Shack and 107.3 Doc FM will sponsor the next Alive After Five on May 20th from 5:30-7:30pm. Jack's Shack is located at 495 W. Van Alstyne Parkway.
