Anna’s Lady Coyotes finished third at the 36-hole District 11-4A golf tournament on Monday and Tuesday, April 2-3, at The Bridges Country Club in Gunter. Catarina Perkins led the team with a two-day low score of 218 and will represent Anna as a medalist at the regional tournament at Van Zandt Country Club in Canton, April 25-26.

Rounding out the Lady Coyotes’ individual results at Gunter were Taylor Phipps with a 241, Tayleigh Wardlaw with a 282, Allison Martinez with a 291 and Alexandra Vargas with a 311.

“Catarina has continued to show a strong determination for improving her game as well as the others,” Anna head coach Curtis Hightower said. “I look forward to seeing her continued growth. With three sophomores and three freshmen in golf this year, the future is looking up. We are young and this group of young ladies is working hard to get their scores down. They will be playing in summer tournaments to keep the competitiveness building towards a great year in 2019.”

For the Anna boys, Seth Curiel finished the two-day tournament with a 293.
