Melissa’s Lady Cardinals picked up their second 2018 district win in as many tries on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Aubrey (15-6, 1-1). Lady Cards guard Sally Clemmons posted 13 points, four assists and four steals — all team-highs — in the 44-27 victory. Forward Ashley Gideon grabbed seven rebounds to lead Melissa (20-3, 2-0) and Clemmons added six.

Lady Cards guard Natalie Conlin was near-perfect from the free-throw line — sinking 7-of-8 attempts — and collected three steals and seven points. Clemmons hit on 7-of-11 tries from the charity stripe. Forward Charley Lane added nine points and five boards for Melissa.

The Lady Cards led, 26-16, at halftime.
