EARLY — The Early Lady Horns were eliminated from postseason contention with a three-set loss to the Comanche Maidens in Tuesday’s District 6-3A and regular season volleyball finale.
Early finished with a 2-8 district record as its two-match win streak was halted.
“I am super proud and blessed to be a part of this school and these girls,” said Early first-year head coach Natalie Whitewood. “They laid it all on the line tonight and never quit fighting. We put up a great fight and our future looks bright.”
Trinity Tomlinson led Early with six kills followed by five from Kacee Gober, three from Jenna Whitehead and one each from Ellie Ryan and Hope Boswell.
CyLee Tyson distributed eight assists with Vance Cady Gordon adding two and one each coming from Ryan and Emma Loven.
Gober, Tyson, Lainey Speck and Morgan Luckie each served an ace.
Defensively, Tomlinson’s 11 digs led the Lady Horns followed by seven from Loven, four from Brilee Tabor and two apiece from Tyson, Ryan, Boswell, Gober, Speck and Taylor Turner.
At the net, Gober recorded four blocks and Whitehead added one.
