Carlos Garrido, a sophomore forward for the Anna Coyotes soccer team, has been named Offensive MVP in just-released all-district honors for the past season.

Joining Garrido on this list of top players from District 5-4A are 10 of his teammates. Coyotes earning first-team recognition are: senior midfielder Miguel Jaramillo, junior midfielder Kevin Garcia and sophomore midfielder Isaac Nino.

Second-team Anna selectees include: junior forward Jose Flores, sophomore forward Jose Rivas and sophomore defender Jerrod Roberts. Earning Honorable Mention for the Coyotes are senior defender Ryan Hoverson, senior forward Andre Joyce, junior goalkeeper Javier Segura and freshman midfielder Jesus Garrido.

“We had a great group of guys this year starting with Carlos Garrido,” Anna head coach Matt Ellis said. “He started slow, but really picked it up in district and playoffs, finishing with 12 goals for the season. Our first-teamers, especially Miguel Jaramillo, provided leadership across our midfield. I am really proud of this group and the contributions they have made to keep growing the program. They are all very deserving of their awards and I couldn’t be happier for them.”

Anna advanced to the regional quarter-finals of the playoffs this year.
