Melissa’s Lady Cardinals kept rolling on Tuesday, Jan. 24, smoking the Lady Warriors, 80-18, at Bonham. Melissa led, 33-6, after one quarter and was never threatened. The Lady Warriors were held to six points per quarter for the first three quarters and were shutout in the fourth. With the win, the Lady Cards pushed their unblemished district mark to 6-0, with four regular season games to go.


Sophomore guard Sally Clemmons led Melissa scorers with 25 points, followed by 12 points from fellow guard and junior Natalie Conlin. Clemmons also collected four steals and three assists in the rout. Sophomore Charley Lane nabbed seven rebounds to lead the Lady Cards and Clemmons added five. Lane also hit double-digit scoring, with 10 points.


Averi Reeves’ 10 points were tops for Bonham (0-6).
