The 12-3A District track meet was held in Princeton on April 11, and the varsity boys and junior varsity boys of Melissa were strong. The JV boys finished third overall with 108 points, while the varsity boys brought home the district championship with an impressive 200 point tally.

"I felt like we did really well at district with it being our first year in 3A," Melissa coach Travis Robertson said. "The competition was a lot tougher this year than past years but we scored in the 200 point range for the second consecutive year. This also marks the third consecutive district track title for the boys."

The varsity boys sent 20 competitors to the Area meet to be held in Princeton on April 17 (results from this meet were not available by the Tribune press deadline.)

The JV boys won two relays at the meet as did the varsity boys who finished the night with an impressive come-from-behind mile relay win.
