Anna High School’s powerlifting teams competed in Whitesboro with four Coyote lifters medaling. Jordan Miller was the top lifter for the girls, finishing in first place and earning the gold medal. Vail Springer finished in third place in her weight class to earn a bronze.
"On Thursday, all of the girls competed very well," Anna Coach James Lane said. "Jordan Miller, Vail Springer and Autumn Spaeth all saw significant improvements in their total weights."
Garrett Lansford brought home his second gold of the season, taking first in the 220-pound weight class. Chase Pinion placed fourth in the 198-pound weight class.
"Lansford struggled early in the meet on squat, but finished strong to take first place," Lane said. "Pinion also overcame a couple of minor setbacks early in the meet and was able to come away with fourth place. As for the younger guys, Antonio Barragan, Matt Kinerd and Alec Kyle all saw improvement at this meet as compared to the meet we hosted."
