The Anna Lady Coyotes successfully competed with the rest of the fieldin the UIL Region II Track and Field Meet held on the campus of A&M Commerce April 26-27.

Courtnie Hughes won the Region II championship in the 1600 meters, winnng the race with a time of 5:17.66, a personal record. Hughes also qualified in the 3200 meters for the state meet to be held at The University of Texas’ Meyers Stadium, May 11.

Nesha Hampton finished in third place in the 300 hurdles in 46.12, a personal record. She has an outside chance of qualifying as a "wild card" for the state meet, depending on the third place times of the other three regions.

Hampton also finished fourth in the 100 hurdles.

Paige Lehrmann ran a 2:28.67 to finish eighth out of 16 runners in the 800 meter run.

Asia Lard and Jordan Miller capped off a successful season by finishing 11th and 13th, respectively.

The Lady Coyote 4x400 relay team of Bailey Pitzer, Asia Lard, Paige Lehrmann and Jordan Miler, ran a season best 4:10.50 to finish 10th out of 16 teams.

"The young ladies all put forth maximum effort in workouts and during the meet," coach Hoot Jones said. "It was a very rewarding season."
