Anna’s Danielle Gonzales is headed for her third state powerlifting meet in as many years after taking first place at the regional competition over the Feb. 22 weekend. But she isn’t going alone as Jordan Miller also qualified for the state meet with a second place finish in her weight class.
Anna’s third competitor, freshman Vail Springer, finished in fourth place in her weight class.
"All three ladies had great meets on Saturday," Anna Coach James Lane said. "Gonzales overcame some early challenges and was able to come away with a 1,030 pound total. Miller finished up with a season best total of 550 pounds. Springer, a freshman with a very bright future, also had a season-best total of 690 pounds. All of them have worked very hard this season and it showed in Wylie"
